Dear brothers and sisters:
Christ is Risen!

Given the current Coptic situation in Egypt, we recognize the greater need for formal training in Coptic studies by Copts and non-Copts.

Thanks to Divine Providence and your support, Coptic studies at Claremont Graduate University (CGU) has continued to make concrete and visible progress. This is apparent when you visit the university website:  http://www.cgu.edu/pages/5446.asp and the St Shenouda Coptic Society website:

In keeping with its mission to support achievements in Coptic Studies, St Shenouda Society has pledged $36,000 in support of the Visiting Professorship at CGU to be paid annually in two installments on 30 June and 31 December. We are currently $8,000 away from meeting our 30 June installment and are dependent on the generosity of the Coptic community to meet this pledge. In addition, we have started three research scholarships to three students in honor of Fr. Antonious Henein. This item costs about $1,500 per month.

Please consider this important program in your donations ASAP. There are two methods to make your tax-deductible contribution:

1) Make check payable to: St. Shenouda Coptic Society, 1701 S. Wooster Street, LA, CA 90035. Write in the memo: Coptic Studies at CGU.

2) Pay by credit card directly to CGU, via this link: http://www.cgu.edu/pages/108.asp

In Method 2, you need to select [School of Religion – Coptic Studies] which is one of the options under [Gift Designation]. Also please inform us, so that your donation can be counted as part of St Shenouda Society’s pledge, or to ensure donations toward Fr. Antonious scholarships are directed as such. Method 2 is especially accessible for employer-matching funds.

All good wishes of the blessed Resurrection, Ascension, and Pentecost to you and your family.
